Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF)

Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF)

Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) is a highly crystalline, thermoplastic fluoroplastic with well-balanced mechanical properties. In comparison to PTFE, PVDF has significantly better rigidity and compressive strength. In addition, PVDF has high resistance to high-energy radiation and is considered to be physiologically inert.

Furthermore, this plastic fulfils the highest cleanliness requirements, which is why it is used for applications in the chemical, food and semi-conductor industries. Thanks to its polar molecular structure, the electric and dielectric properties of PVDF are limited. Another advantage of PVDF is that it has high mechanical strength.
